Beauty trends: 15 makeup looks and hairstyles to remember from Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2023 (2024)

What are the major beauty trends for Spring-Summer 2023?

Paris Fashion Week has officially drawn to a close. This season, the runways proved to provide a wealth of beauty inspiration. As is the case every season, makeup artists and hairstylists doubled up on their creativity to provide beauty looks to match the looks presented. Highlights were a fresh way to wear eyeliner, the best way to style that ponytail and the most fashionable lipstick color. What follows is a rundown of the key makeup looks and hairstyles to know for next Spring-Summer season, or right now, take your pick!

The hottest beauty trends from Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2023.

1. The neo-ponytail at Chanel

This style on the models was achieved by smoothing back the hair at the crown of the head and securing the hair at the base of the neck using a rectangular XL clip. The result was a chic, swept-back effect. The result was both elegant and effortless without being too formal.

2. The headband at Miu Miu

At Miu Miu, a very thin headband was worn right along the forehead, right on the hairline. This was complemented by a neat side part and slicked-back hair.

3. The black lower lash line at Louis Vuitton

This particular regarder was seen on all of the models at the Louis Vuitton show. A bare complexion with a subtle dab of highlighter on the cheekbones was paired with a smokey black halo along the waterline. The result was an easy lesson on getting a bold eye makeup look with something as simple as eyeliner.

4. The mermaid hair at Zimmermann

At the Zimmermann show, the models had wavy hair that tumbled all the way down to their hips. It was a romantic, bohemian-chic style dreamed up by none other than Damien Boissinot. The vision is our perfect summer hair.

5. The micro-fringe at Valentino

At Valentino, hairstylist Guido Palau created clean and sharp hairstyles on the models to offset the colorful collection. It seems that next spring we'll see the return of the micro-fringe. It had a straight edge cut, mere centimeters from the roots, and framed the face as though it were a work of art.

6. The bleached eyebrows at Givenchy

To match the natural-inspired set at Givenchy, Lucia Pieroni gave the models a classic minimalist look, which played with transparency. A hint of shimmer was noted on the lips and the brows were bleached to accentuate the eyes. The lashes were then coated in layers of mascara for a very '60s aesthetic.

7. The “no make-up” make-up look at Victoria Beckham

For Victoria Beckham's first show in Paris, the models embraced the classic French beauty look. It was a “no makeup-makeup” effect dreamed up by Diane Kendal. The look combined a nude complexion with strategically placed hits of glow and lightly balmed lips. The hair was styled in a damp, fresh-out-of-the-shower effect by Duffy, as if swept back effortlessly with one hand.

8. The neo-wet look hair at Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood

Wet look hair is everywhere this season and this was especially noticeable at Vivienne Westwood, where the hairstyle was elevated by Charlie Le Mindu. The models all carried a look that was more than wet. It was as if the models had hair that was frozen, gelled in place in an almost fairytale-like style.

9. The jewels adorning the skin at Giambattista Valli

There were pear diamonds glued to the skin at Giambattista Valli. The look was combined with a sleek hairstyle and a nude makeup look courtesy of Isamaya Ffrench. It was a single elegant detail best reserved for a glamorous evening.

10. The sleek side parts at Loewe

At Loewe, the hair was designed to match the poetic silhouettes imagined by Jonathan Anderson. Guido Palau styled deep side parts on the models' hair, which was fixed in place for a polished look.

11. The criss-cross eyeliner at Dior

The show was inspired by both Catherine de Medicis and Stella Lucia, one of the models who walked the show. Right in line with the grunge liner trend, makeup artist Peter Philips played a clever game of crisscrossing the liner in the inner corners of the eye. The result was a minimal effect with maximum impact.

12. The siren eyes at Chloé

At the Chloé show, the models' eyelids were accentuated with a shimmering silver halo by Hannah Murray. The makeup look was complemented with wet hair styled by Holli Smith. As a result, the models looked like nymphs coming straight out of the water. It was an ultra-fresh look, which immediately put us in a summery mood.

13. The low ponytails at Saint Laurent

At Saint Laurent the hair was classic and chic, and it could not have been more Parisian. According to star hairstylist Duffy, the Saint Laurent woman will now be wearing her ponytail polished and as low as possible at the nape of her neck.

14. The bold smoky eyes at Dries Van Noten

The smoky eye was reimagined at Dries Van Noten. We saw colors like Klein blue, a deep black and bold gold hues. The beauty routine stays minimal with a strong eye look. Make-up artist Lucy Bridge paired the bold eyes with totally nude makeup and lips with just a hint of lip balm. For the hair, hairstylist Sam McKnight, brought texture to the hair in a wet style and had it pulled back.

15. The deep, dark lips at Rochas

For Lucia Pieroni, the right shade to emphasize the lips for the Rochas show was an ultra-dark burgundy that was almost black. This made for an ultra-graphic, ultra-couture beauty look, and one that ensures that the mouth became the center of the face.
