College Basketball Transfer Portal 2024: Tracking Decisions for Notable Players

While most fans were agonizing over their brackets after Selection Sunday, the college basketball transfer portal opened Monday, March 18.
It's a bizarre date for the portal to open, with the NCAA men's basketball tournament beginning a few days later. But there nevertheless was an immediate flurry of action, and we'll track the major transfer decisions below.
Kentucky Transfer Zvonimir Ivisic Commits to Arkansas

Zvonimir Ivisic will follow former Kentucky coach John Calipari to Arkansas after announcing his transfer decision on Instagram, via Jeff Borzello of ESPN. The center averaged 5.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in just 11.7 minutes per game as a freshman last season.
Duke's Jaden Schutt Entering Portal

Duke guard Jaden Schutt announced he will enter the transfer portal, per Travis Branham of 247Sports. He appeared in just 14 games off the bench as a freshman in 2022-23, averaging 2.1 points per game, before redshirting his sophom*ore season.
Texas' Tyrese Hunter Enters Portal

Texas guard Tyrese Hunter will enter the transfer portal, according to Jeff Goodman of Field of 68. The rising senior averaged 11.1 points and 4.1 assists per game in 33 starts this season, his third straight year averaging at least 10 points per game.
UNC's Seth Trimble Enters Transfer Portal

Trimble averaged 5.3 points per game this season for the Tar Heels.
Indiana State's Robbie Avila to Enter Transfer Portal

Avila is the fifth Sycamores starter to enter the transfer portal.
Duke's Mark Mitchell to Enter Transfer Portal

In the wake of head coach Juwan Howard's firing after an 8-24 season, forward Tarris Reed told Joe Tipton of On3Sports.com he is entering the transfer portal.
The sophom*ore averaged 9.0 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game in 32 appearances this season.
Louisville Loses Koron Davis, Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams Jr.

The Louisville trio of Koron Davis, Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams Jr. are entering the transfer portal, per Joe Tipton of On3 and Eric Crawford of WDRB.
Davis' decision doesn't come as a surprise, as he was dismissed from the team in December.
Glenn, a freshman, appeared in 32 games this season, averaging 3.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game. Williams, also a freshman, appeared in 32 games as well, averaging 5.3 points per contest.
Changes were expected for Louisville's roster after the firing of head coach Kenny Payne, and it wouldn't be a shock if more Cardinals hit the portal.
Oklahoma State Loses Javon Small and Brandon Garrison

Oklahoma State's Javon Small will play elsewhere in the 2024-25 season, per Travis Branham of 247Sports. He'll be one of the bigger names on the transfer portal after averaging 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Cowboys this season.
Brandon Garrison is also departing, per ESPN's Jeff Borzello, after averaging 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds this past season. Both moves come in the wake of Oklahoma State firing head coach Mike Boynton on Wednesday.
Miami's Michael Nwoko Enters Portal

He averaged 11.1 points and 6.8 rebounds this past season as a senior.
